Easy Banana Bread

Easy Banana Bread

Hey there!

I'm pretty sure you guys can tell how much I love the combination of Chocolate and Banana. So far the recipes that I've posted all call for either chocolate or banana. I promise more variety!!! ;)

This recipe is so easy, healthy and very tasty. Chocolate chips are optional as well. For me, I didn't have chocolate chips so I chopped up 1/4 of a chocolate bar, so they were like chocolate chunks in the banana bread.

I made this on a Saturday morning for my family. It was gone within minutes! They all commented on how tasty and healthy it was. Weeee. I will gladly make this recipe again and I hope you will too! :)

Adapted from:  Sugar and Cinnamon

Serves : 5-8 [depends on how thick you cut each slice ;)]

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp chia seeds (plus 6 tbsp water)
  • 100 ml or 1/2 cup coconut/olive oil
  • 100 ml or 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 medium mashed bananas
  • 1 cup white flour
  • 1 cup wholemeal flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice (optional but works really well)

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 380 F/ 180 Degrees
  2. Sift the dry ingredients
  3. Mix together the wet ingredients
  4. Fold wet mixture into the dry mixture
  5. Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake for around 30-45 minutes

Feel free to add in chocolate chips or raisins etc into the batter. I hope you guys will enjoy this recipe as much as my family and I did! :D

Chocolate Peanut Butter Oatmeal Breakfast Bar

Chocolate Peanut Butter Oatmeal Breakfast Bar

Hey guys!

I really wanted to post another recipe today so here it is! :D It is a chocolate peanut butter oatmeal breakfast bar.

It requires less than 10 ingredients, less than 5 minutes to make and you don't even need to bake or cook it! Sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? Apart from the quick and easy preparation, it is super healthy, filling and so delicious! One of my favourite things to eat for breakfast!!! It is truly a sweet treat that will surely satisfy any sweet tooth and chocolate lover.

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter/nut butter of choice
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 mashed banana
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • EXTRAS(optional): Chocolate chips/ Blueberries/ Dried fruit

Method:

  1. Combine the cocoa powder, rolled oats and cinnamon
  2. Add in the mashed banana and peanut butter to the dry ingredients
  3. Sprinkle in any extra(s).. yes you may add in more than one extra. :)
  4. If the mixture is a little dry, add in 1-2 tbsp of water
  5. Grab some cling wrap and place the mixture on the wrap
  6. Put in the fridge for at least 4 hours (to let it firm up)
I've sprinkled some shredded coconut over this one. :)

These ones have no cocoa powder and still equally delicious!

There! So quick and easy to make! You can make as many bars as you want and place them in the fridge and just grab and go whenever you want it! These ingredients are everyday ingredients you can find at home. They are gluten free and vegan! There is no fuss about this recipe at all. You can omit the cocoa powder if you're not feeling like chocolate. :)

For those you have hunger pangs 1-2 hours after breakfast (like me), try this breakfast bar out! :) It's sure to keep you full and give you energy for the entire morning.

I've made many of this same bar, and it has never failed me. Not once.

When you want to eat it, heat it up in the microwave for around 10-20 seconds so that it is not so hard to bite into. I hope you'll enjoy this bar as much as I do! :D

Flourless Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Coconut Cookies

Flourless Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Coconut Cookies

I just baked these today and they are terrific! :D

This recipe is adapted from Chocolate Covered Katie. Go check out her blog! I absolutely love it! Actually, she was the one who inspired me to set up my own recipe blog so I could share incredible recipes with you all!

Since I am currently on holiday, I can post a recipe everyday! But when school starts again in a week's time, I will probably post once or twice a week..preferably every Friday/Saturday/Sunday, so stay tuned for them!

These healthy delicious bars took me less than 20 minutes to whip up and less than 10 minutes to bake. You can have them as a snack, or as breakfast, really whatever you like. They are vegan and gluten free! Definitely a healthy treat. :)

Yields: 6 large cookies / 10-12 small cookies

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup of rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup of instant oats
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 tbsp chocolate chips/chunks
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp dessicated coconut
  • 5-6 tbsp almond milk

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 380 F/ 180 Degrees for 5 minutes
  2. Mix all the dry ingredients together.
  3. Combine the oil and milk into the dry ingredients, mix.
  4. Place onto greased cookie sheet on a tray and bake for 8-10 minutes until slightly brown on the surface

It might be a little crumbly when it comes out of the oven so leave it to cool for a while until it completely sets. You can store these in the fridge overnight and they'll become firmer. They are delicious either way. Enjoy!

Welcome!

Hey there!

Welcome to Eat A Cup Of Tea! My name is Tess and I am 18 years old this year. I love healthy and yummy food.. I mean who doesn't? I thought it would be a fun and lovely idea to start this blog! This blog will be filled with healthy recipes that all dieters and even non-dieters would love (hopefully).

The Title of this blog was inspired from one of my favourite movies 'Eat a Bowl Of Tea' [Thought I'd change the 'bowl' to 'cup' so I won't get any copyright issues. Better safe than sorry ;)] Apart from that, I absolutely love Tea. I drink about 10 cups of Tea a day and I'm not even kidding. Green tea, berry tea, oolong tea, mint tea... the list goes on.

I will post as many recipes as often as I can. I will also give the link to the recipes if I adapted it from another blog. I hope you guys will enjoy the recipes that I post! :)

xoxo,
Tess
